Time is going by far too fast!

I cannot believe how fast the days are going by!

I got my lovely fascinator in the mail the other day – handmade by Monica at Dollabella! Sooo gorgeous – pics coming soon! Also going to be posting pictures of my dress as well! And shoes once I get them unpacked haha

We almost have enough to pay off the rest of the hall – saving up Airmiles to take care of most of the catering ($40 so far… should have $60 soon – then the rest out of pocket).

Lots of baking to do as time gets closer but that’s nothing to worry about.

Only real problematic thing left is figuring out how to hook the laptop up to a PA and what cords are needed. Gonna be some trial and error in that for sure : / And other than that we gotta pay off the rings and find Jason a nice lil suit!

Only 98 days to go…. Insane!

Got a reverend!

Jason called around and got us a reverend today, who will do the marrying for just $100. Very decent. His website is, what a great domain name.

Trying to decide how I want to set up the music for the wedding. The legion has a PA system that I should be able to connect to speakers and my laptop. This will take a bit of research but shouldn’t be too difficult to do.

Really itching to get the invitations printed… they look so friggin awesome, I wanna stick em on my fridge haha.

Long past due updates!

It’s been so long since an update, as we’ve been slowly making progress, but things are starting to come together.

We finally got ourselves a hall after weeding through sooooo many…. ugh. Pain in the butt. We’ve booked the Brampton Legion, which is located on Queen Street. Really cute place, complete with lots of tables, floor space and a bar :D plus insanely cheap! Also we’re so cool we’re looking into obtaining memberships for said legion… o.o

I finished the design for the invitations which was a blast to do. Next step is to go get some ink and paper this weekend and print em all off, then hand em all out. I think they look fabulous, and the grand total of cost will be around $40 (for ink n paper).

Was lucky enough to have TWO garters, yes, two :D One thanks to my nanny which is gorgeous blue and lace, the other, also the one who gets the exciting pleasure of flying through the air, is orange and black.

I’ve since sold my original wedding dress since I decided it was too much of a hassle to get it cleaned and altered. Now, no longer getting married in a “wedding” dress but instead in this super cute, black evening dress that mommy gave me for Christmas last year. I’ve been in love with it since the day I got it but Jason and I don’t really go out for fancy very often, so I thought this would be the perfect time to wear it! It fits so well, I don’t have to worry about stepping on it, if I do spill something on it, it’s black so it’s far less easy to notice, and I can drink and eat without feeling like I’m going to bust through the seams. Also, it spins reaaaaaalllly nicely :D This also avoids the hassle of disappearing for 20 minutes to get out of a gown.

We’ve booked our hotels for Niagara Falls! Going to be staying at the Angel Inn, Niagara on the Lake for Halloween night, which is amazing since there are ghost tours on the lake as well as the inn itself is haunted. Cannot wait! Then off to the Marriott, Niagara Falls where we got a room with a jacuzzi! Love those things! So insanely excited to go back there it’s not even funny. Screw nice warm, sunny cruises and beaches – we’re going to the horror houses.

Jason and I are also going to be moving back to Brampton in the next month and a bit. Going to drop off an application today. If we get the place we need I’ll be crazy close to friends and family, as well as a gym. Not that I need to lose any, but it’d be nice to build up more muscle and do some toning. This way I can help rearrange tables at the hall hahaha.

We’ve been saving up airmiles to turn into Metro cards to help pay for catering, which will be mostly comprised of cold plates and finger foods (since we’re not doing an actual dinner). I’m an obsessive collector so we should have close to $100 worth of gift cards by the time it gets close to October, which would be super helpful.

Now we need to book a priest and wait for Halloween to get closer to buy decorations! Can’t wait to decorate that hall! Still debating on whether or not to get a smoke machine… hmm….

That’s all for now – whoever knew weddings could be so bloody fun?

Wedding Updates!

Although I’m certain no one really reads this blog and I created it just to have something else to put in my portfolio, I still figure I might as well update it as updates happen.

Jason and I have decided we are no longer having a wedding (as nontraditional as we were going to have it) and instead we are going to get hitched at city hall and then get our butts off to somewhere warm! Currently we’re thinking Cancun depending on how much we can save up til that time! Makes far more sense to have a nice honeymoon instead of wasting money on renting halls, clothing, favors, decorations and catering – and neither of us have ever been outside of Canada so it should be nice n fun. We’re literally saving every extra penny we can and now that I got rid of my $3000 balance on my credit card I can throw a lot more into the savings account :D Excited!

In order to help fund this trip I’m going to be offering websites at a discounted price – $200 for a small site and free hosting and maintenance. So if you have a domain name kicking around that you never really had time to design anything for, let me know and I will make you something perdy :D

And this concludes my once every 3 months update… now to clean/edit the rest of the pages on the site bwhahahah.

Halloween Is Almost Here!

Halloween is coming upon us incredibly quickly, so what better way to get into the mood other than by putting up the Christmas tree! Some photos of our work in progress are here.

Pretty much all the decorations were bought at Dollarama which is insanely cheap, and the rest from Walmart, also on the cheaper side of things.

Now if only we could come up with some decent costumes…. falling behind on that one this year!

Another really exciting thing for us is the cake! We won’t be opting for any boring white, lace trimmed, smiling groom and bride topped and made from the batter of the gods.

We also probably won’t be doing tiered since we need enough cake for all (which isn’t much, but don’t wanna run out!). We’ve discussed briefly about a pumpkin patch, with little mini pumpkin cupcakes surrounding. Either way, something decently priced or (if he lets me heheheh. Well I DID do half a Death Star once…..) easy to create!

Anyhow, here are some photos of frightfully beautiful cakes!

This cake is absolutely stunning.  I love the whole graveyard idea and this is just put together so beautifully.  This is probably my favorite out of the entire batch of photos I scoured the internet for this morning.  Cake is from Amazing Cakes.

This cake is something I would never do due to the excessive amount of black icing (yuckk) but it sure is lovely.  A little more on the gothy side, as opposed to spooky, but very very elegant.  LOVE the topper!  This cake is from

The detail in the front of this cake is amazing.  The pumpkin layers near the top are adorable (is it okay to call pumpkins adorable? ).  Either way, really cute cake.  This one is from

I don’t really know what to say about this one other than WOW.  Love everything about this cake apart from the fact that I would never let anyone take a knife to it.  WOW WOW WOW.  This ties as favorite cake for sure!  Cake is from SebastianDiaz87 (Flickr)

Not my favorite, but it sure is cute as hell.  Love the little pumpkins in the yard and the house next to it.  Super cute.  This cake is from

Looking for cakes also puts me in the mood to look for cake toppers!

Too bad this one over at eBay is as much as it is.  It’s amazing.
This one is also wicked cool!
Soooo cute!!!
This one wouldn’t work as I’m not blonde, but it’s cute!
Really love this one.
Nice idea, but the quality is really lacking.

Dress has arrived :D

My super awesome dress arrived last night and is much prettier than I thought it looked online. It smells ancient but is in such great condition apart from the stain underneath the lacey bit.. which is barely noticeable to begin with and shouldn’t have a hard time coming out. Some of the rhinestones in the collar are missing or turned black but it’s such an insignificant detail that I can either forget about it, or just get the studs restapled in.

It fits perfectly in the bust if wearing a padded, push up bra (which of course I’ll be wearing, due to my lack of umph upstairs) and the waist is only about 3 inches too big. I figured I’d prefer to have a dress that allows a little leeway so I don’t have to starve myself for 4 months prior. Now, I can eat and exercise and NOT stress about whether or not it fits. I will be getting it taken in as it gets closer to the wedding date.

It also surprisingly isn’t super duper long. It just covers my feet with about 2 inches of hang (but that’s why high heels were made!) and what a sweep it has! I put it on and spun around the room til I felt like I was gonna hurl from all the spinning.

I’m so glad to have such a gorgeous dress so soon, and at such an amazing price. Hopefully the rest of the wedding is as inexpensive!!

Wedding Dress

dressAfter watching this religiously on eBay for a week, bidding on it a day before (and almost deciding to forget all about it because it got pricier than I intended), and dreaming about it TWICE in one night I decided that this is the dress for me.

It’s not your average dress (but hey, average is boring!), it’s from the 50′s (complete with stains and a few small rips), swing style, and lots of room to move about in, or get alterations if necessary :D

Yes, Jason’s seen it.  He’s my best friend – I ask his opinion on everything.  He’s gonna have to wait til next Halloween to see me in it tho :P

Finally live!

I finally got off my lazy butt and finished designing and coding the site de la wedding. I’m pretty happy with it – it’s full of gaudy, tacky colors and random pumpkins and spiders :D And it actually looks good in IE (go figure). It’s nowhere near complete content-wise, but it’s well on it’s way.
